    Default vp heater tap

i believe the heater tap on my VP is leaking, i jacked up the car today and had a look underneath, it's definitely leaking water from somewhere so i just assumed the heater tap as i recently replaced the thermostat, there's a loose hose underneath near where it's leaking, where exactly is the heater tap? i've pretty much looking everywhere and can't seem to find it!'

    thanks

V6? The heater tap is on the driver's side of the engine bay on a bracket bolted to the inner guard.

If it's similar to a VS it is directly underneath the master cylinder. Look for where two hoses connect to a "T-Piece". The tap is on top of this with a thin hose coming out of the top.

The 4 outlet valve is for the Ecotec V6 from VS onwards.

The 2 outlet valve does all EFI 5L, and the Buick V6 in the VN-VR, and is the same for both motors.

i've looked near the master cylinder, i know what it looks like but i still can't see it, i must be blind!

so the vp would have a 2 way heater tap?

its bolted to the strut tower forwards and under the master cylinder. just follow the pipe/hose out of the engine under the power steering and it should go back to it.

    this is a v6 right?

yep. didn't realise you had abs too, that should be fun to get to.
there should be 3 hoses to it, 2 big ones, and a tiny one that goes back to the dash (the tiny one is the vacuum hose that controls the valve)
if you're losing coolant check the hose joins at other places too, like where the big hose joins to the back of the inlet manifold, at the front of the inlet manifold where there's a short hose going to the water pump. basically anywhere there's a hose that joins something.

also if you can, get a mirror and have a look at the welch plugs on the heads (front and back) to see if they look corroded/leaking.

another place you can lose it from is cracked header tanks on the sides of the radiator (leaning on the fan shroud can cause this, but it's easy as to swap the radiator out for an ebay cheapie)
