So I changed the fuel filter, ( i know, should have done it before) problem still there.
When I pulled the old filter out it rattled! oh no! cut it open and the paper element hat seperated from the can and all the rust and crap that was in there has gone through the fuel system.
As it idles ok and seems to run ok under no load i suspect the injectors are ok and fuel pressure regulator is full of crap.
Before I replace it ($130) I thought I may be able to clean it out by removing it and washing or back flushing it. I am not sure how it seals into the fuel rail.
So, some questions.
1. how does the regulator seal? orings? ru usable?
2. any way of testing it? (dont have a pressure gauge)
3. any way to get the crap out of the system or will it all be gone as I have a new filter?
4. Runs perfectly ok on gas, no error codes either so has to be fuel?
Thanks for your help, great forum, can ususlly solve most problems by searching and have learnt a lot from this site.
