    Default Tightening bonnet cable

How do I tighten the bonnet cable?
It seems really loose when I pull on it to pop the bonnet, and some times when Im driving the bonnet pops up onto the latch.
    Thanks

we recently had a problem with the vn where it wasnt tight enough to pop the bonnet.

just find the cable and find a few places where u can cable tie it to put pressure on it

i don't think you can tighten it, but another option is to just tie a knot in it. worked for me

On the radiator support there is - or should be - a little metal bracket for the cable held in place by a (6mm head?) coach screw. If the outside of the cable hasn't slipped or been damaged too badly, you can loosen that off and pull the cable tighter. (Too tight when doing up the bolt will crush the outside of the cable onto the cable = sticking.)

If the cable feels loose and the catch won't hold it's possible that the catch is sticking, perhaps something is bent. That can be caused by levering open the catch on a bonnet that won't open with the cable.

Another possibility is that the catch has been adjusted so as to allow the bonnet to be opened with a stretched or slipped cable => adj. bonnet catch after fixing the cable.
