    Question VT brakes

what is required for a VT brake upgrade for a s1 VN V6?

currently have an 1" 1/8th master brake cylinder, would that be enough?

since i have found a set for discs and calipers for bother front and rear, just want to make sure costs don't blow out on anything else that could be required.

    thanks.

1 1/8" or 1" master? 1" is all you need. What else do you have and how much is your budget? The VE spec upgrade is very good, it comes with 289mm or 322mm slotted and dimpled rotors, hub adaptors, new calipers, new pads, braided lines and brake fluid. $750 for the VE kit.

That VE kit will work with a factory V8 1" master cylinder? Any advantages over the VT kit? PM me if you like, I might become very interested if I can pull some cash from somewhere.

edit: forgot my main question - what's the minimum wheel size for these kits?

The VE kit will work with the stock 15/16" M/cyl. The VE calipers have smaller pistons so there is less fluid displacement compared to the VT. The rotor is larger so they are more efficient.

Minimum wheel size is 15" for 289mm rotors, or 17" for the 322mm rotor. But then 16" factory VZ rims have gone over 322's.

The major advantage I suppose is that there is no need to upgrade any other component of the brake system. These kits bolt straight up and feel better than the factory brakes and work a shit load better too.

I like the sound of that. Not having to change from my 15x7 stockies, and keeping my original master cyl etc.. just to clarify, what's the price on a 289mm setup? is it just fronts that are supplied?

Yep, just the fronts, a 289mm for a VN, which also includes the hubs would be $720.
