Coolant.. wheres is leaking from?

hey guys..
got a problem with a mates VN S1 V6.. it has been over heating like Nuts!.. needle all the way up in the red zone in about 5min.. we had changed the thermostat and the housing then topped it up with coolant, then we started to hear a splashing noise coming from under the car.. i had a look under the car and saw a big puddle of coolant leaking from somewhere in the engine.. i saw it was leaking from the just under the right hand extractor ( air intake pipe side ) its really pissing out..a full on stream of coolant.. like someone is pouring a jug of water... its pretty bad. i felt around and it seems like its leaking from a plug thing the size of a 20c piece..and when i push this thing in it stops leaking??????

I'm soooooooo confused what it is..lol

i need all the help i can get...

welch plug maybe?

definately sounds like a welch plug. if you stick your head under there (if you can) u will see there is a hole. there's threads on here somewhere if you search on how to change em. its not too hard to do.
