Default Vp calais owners( doortrims question)

Gday guys, just wondering from you vp calais drivers know wether the doortrims in the calais model have the removable cloth section on the armrests? or is it sewn in? 1 guy told me they have clips in it so you can take the fabric section off.. Is his true?

I've always wanted to know the answer to this, because i want to put the Calais cloth section on my exec door trims, and retain the manual window wipers. OP, are you getting rid of your trims lol?

Then i'd be left with a either a small hole from the switch in the rear/ or a useless switch in the door trim
Plus, if i found a suitable set, it would be waay cheaper to send just the cloth inserts, rather than the whole trims.

Thats what im talking about, just want to recover the inserts to match my car instead of dicking around with the whole trim.

Also were any of the vp calais dorrtrims actually grey or are they all that light blue/greeny colour?

Yes as said, if the calais doortrim has the large cloth section, it is held in by a couple of round screw clips and a couple of 10mm(?) hex bolts (made of plastic)
On my exec door trims i added VR Calais cloths and even the door light.

I thought about doing that, then i got lazy and just bought VQ ones for my wagon, that way the inserts are there, and the door lights (aswell as rear map pockets, normal calais' dont have rear map pockets)

I paid 150, but 2 sets went on ebay for 100, i only didn't buy them because the seller wouldn't organise shipping for them.

They cost $30 to $40 from Jollys wreckers in Dandy. Still got the front ones in my car but rears are now VQ statesman (series 1)
Yeah they are a pain to cut out holes and attach all the extra parts to. It's much easier to get a set that are like that from factory.

(My new doortrims came with my new seats - $80 from ebay)
