Hey i have a bit of an issue, i did a clutch recently and my old throw out bearing was farked, it had sliped of the fork and the plastic caseing was deformned and the back of the presssure plate was ****ed because of it.
How do i stop the bastard falling off again, as far as i can tell they just sit in there and rely on pedal pressure to keep them firmly attached to the fork so to speak.
The only prob with this is i wasnt able to achiecve the quoted 39 mm or so from clevus to rear of bell houseing, and my pedal high isnt what its ment to be :P so there is a bit of play in there.
And allso where does your cluch engage in a Vp V6, mines only grabbing in the last 1/4 just over half of pedal movement. I like em to grab about an inch off the floor.
i've only even pulled apart my supra 5 speed but it should be similar,
the throw out bearing should be FIRM against the housing it sits on, if not then you need to replace the housing as its worn or the bearing is wrong. the bearing should be sandwiched against the end of the housing (which the clutch fork connects to) and the pressure plate fins,
i've got a hydraulic system but you should be able to adjust the cable, maybe at the pedal.
Just pulled mine out and there is dramas.....spigot is loose in the crank and fell out with the clutch.....fingers or the pressure plate are worn paper thin and off centre......throwout bearing is still in one piece but the cushion tabs are gone nowhere to be seen....and I put them in about 4 years ago....the throwout surface on the input shaft retainer has significant wear to one side.....wtf?
