Hard to start, when raining/car wash

Ay guys, last night I was driving home and out of nowhere I lost all power while pissing down with rain, I jump started it.. put more fuel in it... checked fuses still wouldnt start. So ended up calling RACV, the serviceman had no luck either and suggested the ignition module may be dodgy.

Got home today, and as my battery was low I jumped it and was hitting the module with a hammer and ended up turning over.

Does this sound like a faulty module? as water can get in quite easily as my bonnet needs adjusting

sounds like a faulty module, incorrect diagnosis though.

when they start to pack up, they fail when hot. it's more likely that's what happened to you. i think it's just a coincidence that it happened when it was raining.

Yeh a mate had told me that, thanks for that. Wierd though the last 2 times ive washed my car its done the same thing.

anyway off to kumbak to get this module

maybe the water effects it as well, but yeah it's probably dodgy either way

there was a thread a while ago about 5ltrs being really hard to start after spraying the engine bay. to be on the safe side, i just don't wash it
