So, what do you's think of this idea:
As some of you's know Im going to be repainting my WHOLE interior (Fun...) So, do you guys think I should paint my Air-con vents, Red .. Blue .. green? Just after some thoughts :P
AND! Would anyone know how hard it is to change the Carpet?
As Im looking at putting some Black carpet in, or Dark Blueish colour
any thoughts and ideas would be sweet
Thanks!

You hit it right on the head Tim Smith, black carpet, blue vents...2 votes.
CAR ,Y U NO FIX YOURSELF
To replace the carpet you will need to remove the seats, sill covers, centre console and you will also need to unbolt the seat belt mounts.
2-3 hours tops with the whole change over of the carpet and thats taking your time.
CAR ,Y U NO FIX YOURSELF
I think you should leave your interior as is. I think painting interior's is a typical amatuer P' plate thing to do, and does nothing but ruin your interior, lower the resale, and ruin any originality. I just don't get it.
Thanks for all the responses
Reason why I want the change is.. I just don't like Brown
And, it wont be sold again .. It's going to my brother (if its still alive then)
I looked at getting it painted professionally..and sadly.. It's just to pricey
However, before the day of painting.. I will be hitting up my local wreckers and gettin some Practice Vn-Vp door trims etc etc
If you check my sig.. and look at the pics of the car, you will see why I don't like Brown lol, just not my thing

ok the standard commodore brown.
use the plastic adhesion promoter on the plastics and plastic paint, on the vinyl use vinyl spray.
the vinyl spray may not stick to some plastics.
i found that semi gloss vinyl spray and plastic paint were very different gloss levels so check that.
buy the stuff buy the carton and you get it cheap.
$116 for 24 cans of vinyl spray from repco up here in north qld.
Well if you don't like the colour, (OP dosen't like the brown) then source all the parts you need, for a different colour interior. Either the grey from the VN, or maybe the blue from the VP. Even going as far as converting the whole interior to that of a Calais,or Berlina, seats, dash, door trims ect, and then get yourself a new carpet mould, roofling and so on. Sounds like a lot of work, i know, but if your patient, you can find most of what you need fairly cheap, and the end result's will be far better . Upraded parts from the same manafacuter IMO is still original. I just think painting the interior looks tacky, and no matter how good the finish, it dosen't last.
limited colour choices from factory and the colours on the plastic and vinyl have changed due to age and fadding at different rates.
upgrading to a calais interior is way less original then customising it to suit your own taste.
yes a painted interior does need some extra care.
I don't understand how upgraded manafactuer parts can be less original than modifying an existing part. If you modify a part, then it's no-longer original.
I don't think fading of original dash parts ect is really an issue. If you look the dash, door trims ,centre console ect, are are slightly different shades to begin with. That's just my opinion anyway, other's are going to have different views...
NOO! That's the best interior colour holden ever made! (other than the blue and red and green early girl interiors, or the burgundy VN calais interior!)
If you're going to spray everything, then sell me your rear 1/4 trims and top hoodlining trims (if you manage to get them off without breaking them)!!!!
agreed.. just save up for matching leather seats?! haha.
tan FTW!
my interior has been painted and with a little care and a bit of preperation looks good and hasnt chipped or scratchd in 12 mths... i have blue vents
shhh now PUPPET
THATS WAT IM TALKIN BOUT!!
HAHA, levy has indeed got the goods on this one bud. KEEP THAT SHITT!!![]()
noob question but did VN's come with a TAN interior as standard??
