    Default CAI setup, opinions

Hey guys, i've got a question about a cold air intake setup, and was wondering if anyone could give some advice.

I have a VP V6 commodore (powerhouse i know lol) I currently have an OTR CAI from a VS S/C, with a K&N panel filter. I'm wondering, would be there be any gains, if i was to add a second intake, in the form of a pipe from the lower airbase box, running down through the guard, and to the front bumper. I've seen people run them down this way, with good results, but would i be going backwards having the air drawn from 2 different locations?

Thanks to anyone who can offer me some advice..

Thanks mate, that helped a lot. I know what the search function is, and yes i used it.There are tons of threads related to CAI's, and i read through quite a lot of them, but in none of them did i find this question, or the answer to it.

some v8's came with the air scoop over the radiator, but not with a hole in the guard, v6's didn't get CAI scoops until the L67 (supercharged) v6 in the VS's

yeah if you get pulled up you could get a defect notice.
after all you are cutting into part of the structure that is designed to save your life in a crash.

I have a S/C CAI OTR, and also i cut a hole in the air box along side it at the back, and fitted 100mm pipe to the front bar, well just under the radiator, the best of both worlds.

The SV89 had a hole in the gaurd under the airbox, infact the lower airbox was a weird shape that poked into the hole, The VN/P is pre frontal crash ADR so there doesn't seem to be any law stopping you (or HSV) anyway

^Jason, that is what I needed to hear!! I can run my air intake much better than I thought. Does that mean that you technically shouldn't get in trouble for cutting a hole in the bonnet, as long as it's covered by a grpA scoop or similar?
