    Default Vn aftermarket Central locking

Hey i recently updated the the central locking kit in my car.

it already had an after market on but it wasnt remote, plus it wasnt working properly motors were stuffed.

so anyway just cut and joined the old power (red wire) that was already spliced into the loom with the new red wire attached to the control box. then wired up all the colours ect all the new motors and shit in etc.

reconnected battery, tried remote and nothing.

with the slighest movement of the plug into the control box there seems to be tinh blue sparks, wehn these appear u hear a noise which is the two front door motors moving the slighest up and down.

this is all i can get, i have no idea what to do as it is wired up and getting power, can anyone help?

i can take some pictures if needed.

i really wanna get the remote central locking working.

oh and i got some shadow chrome 18 inch grange's for the vn :P ill chuck up some pics of them soon

    thanks

Possibly find that when you see the sparks there is a short somewhere in the loom.

could the short be coming from the power wire? as everything else is just plusgged in.

the power wire i had to strip both sides, twist together. i havent soldered it yet its just twisted and taped. could this be shorting it out.

also there is a white and brown wire coming of the control box. on the diagram it says there the remote wires. it seems they dont go anywhere but should they?

solder all your wires, and see what happens. have you got a proper earth? those white and brown wires should go to an alarms control unit so the central locking works with aftermarket alarms installed.

ok ill soder the joints. ive got the earth running to a bolt on the metal fuse blockl thing. its unde rthe dash. the rpesvious earth was running there.

so those wires can just stay the way they are. as i dont have an alarm system yet.

ok so the video link shows how the front door is wired up colour for colur. it shows the power wire join, form there it goes thriough the fuse and into the main under dash loom. it also shows the door locking rods doing the weird thing when the plug is moved. like rods moving slighty. if u turn it up you can hear it. if both locks in fornt are down, then i move plugs it will unlock the doors (push the rods all the way up) but then it just does the weird thing moving.

right at the end up can see the sparking.

any ideas? i really wanna just be able to push unlock on remote they all open, then lock and all close. why does it have to be annoying lol!

also those other two wires the brown and white ones i assume are for hooking up to an alarm system. on the wiring loom diagram(its so shit) it say there the remote wires? thanks

i checked your video out. something is definately wrong there. when you plug the module in do the doors lock or unlock? and when it does the weird moving thing is that on it own? or are you doing anything to cause that? can put up some pics of the wiring diagram. that would be be great.

if i have the door locks down (doors locked) and i plug the plug in the door locks go up (unlocked).

then if i move the plug, as in slighty pull out then in, or just wiggle it then door locks do that weird move thing.

i can get a picture of the diagram but its just really basic, was on the side of the box.

my next guess would be that the module may be faulty. hard to tell with not actually being there.

    Hey vnsmanual. Sorry to hijack.

Just wondering, is it relatively easy to put the aftermarket locking in? I'd love to use a button ..And what prices am I looking at?

    thanks!

Installation of the locking actuators and the rod's mounting barces ect is easy.

the wiring should be easy, however im having a few hiccups.
The kit cost me 58 dollars of ebay, including postage.

ive got my car here at tafe today so ill let you all know what the problem is tonight.

im starting to think i may have gotten a dodgey module.

thanks for all your help especially 'Georgeonboost'

hey everyone central locking is working

i had it all wired and mounted right just was plugging the plug into the module the wrong way. such an idiot.

really simple to install if you dont do silly things such as this lol.
having the remote is the best.

btw the old module had same coulour wires except one, and it had a different plug.

    thanks for your help everyone.
