heres one to baffle yas. 4 weeks ago i was bashing up the highway on my little local 4 klm stretch i was doing 150 super charger engaged and ....pop a cloud of smoke and to the side of the road i went . i blew the passenger side head gsket in two places.
so i pulled her down installed the new gaskets put it all back together and she idles sweet ...revvs smooth doesnt miss a beat butttt..... i go for my test drive and the thing runs like a 4 cylinder missing on two.i have no acceleration no power and the car dies back when it should be powering up..
in the last three weeks ive replaced fuel pump, fuel filter,dfi and coil pack ,plugs leads. this morning i got a hold of a vr (i think) ecu and tried that on and she started beaut ran normal so i give the super charger a little hit up a hill (oh forgot to mention this vn series 2 is in my hilux with a marks adapter kit and the super charger always helps me up the hills) and pop sputter splutter back to running rough and loss of power.so i finish work go to start her up again and she winds over but doesnt start so back in goes the original ecu and shitty driving
the only other thing i can tell you is my stereo fuse is over loaded and keeps blowing fuses
and a mech told me that its the map senser...im wondering temp sender, faulty ecu(i have used my car to start a few tractors ) or o2 senser..please help im tired of spending money and not fixing the prob...cheers to yas
ps i have just seen through research that there are stage 4 memcal chips for higher revving performance engines when my heads blew my tranny juymped back from 4 th to 3rd i could only guess what sort of revs i would have been doing at 150 with diesel ratio diffs wont be doing it again i can tell you.....could i have fried the ecu or memcal chip?

Other things to check are the CAS (I'll ignore the 150k) and vacuum leaks. Injector cleaner and fuel filter/regulator.
When you change the ECU did you swap the memcal over?

hopefully im replying to the bloke that asked if id replaced memcal ....interesting enough i went out this evening and tried the memcal from the one that works but not well in the one that wouldnt even start and it ran better than the one it was in still worried about that overloaded fuse too
dont they just not start when the cas is gone?
