Can be done but depends on the car and how long and tight its been put on ,I usualy get them off by a 3LB hammer and a good sized rachet and socket give the rachet a good joilt with the hammer to crack it

Are you putting shortened struts in? Mine were dead, so we just cut them off with an angle grinder, as the new struts came with new bolts.

i tried everything - bought go-thru sockets, welded shock pin to stop it turning, etc...

after 2 weeks i eventually cried to a mechanic bud for advice and he laughed at me - just like he laughed with the ball joints.

he lent me his grunty rattle gun - it was the way to go for me as it shocks 'em loose.

it worked and i felt like a winner...but then i tried the the rear suspension lower control bushes and ended up in tears again.

    the vn enjoyment never ends.

lol mate slip the rubber up on the strut and grab with vice grip if you are replacing them.
the lower bushes you WILL need a rattle gun to do.
I'm 130kg and could not get enough pressure one the ratchet to get them in, a good rattle gun and it was all over. remember they are tappered and you need a c shape bit of tube to stop from crushing the brackets together. not to hard just need a littl planning to do.
