Hey there im new to all this internet stuff so bare with me..
Iv recently got myself this VP n put a few lil touches of my own to it, n the guy that done the work on it rekons i could have myself a genuine VP Senator 5000i going by his many many yrs in the spraypainting/machanic buisness he has going... See my biggest problem iz that the car has had its dash tag & Build plate from the enginebay removed. A friend of a friend looked into the vin# n says it iz a vp WAG0N exec white 3.8l, pfffft haha yeh nah i dont think s0 Mr vin#....
One of the strut towers also has a series of numbers/letters stamped into it witch iv been told is a police releice stamp.??
Everything anyone iz telling me that 5000i'z should have, my car has got, the only thigs missing are the build tags.!! My BIG question that im throwing out there is, is there anything else on the car that can proove its a genuine 5000i.????????????????? If anyone can tell me how to put a few pictures up of mey car, il put sum up for you's..
red engine covers, 5000i badges, is the paint a purple colour called senator quartz, interior!! bigger brakes? roof clock. surely if its real it will have some of these things.. oh by the way if its real can i start making offers???
The covers were just crapy normal 1z. Got frontend resprayed using that paint code n it matched perfect. Interior haz sv on a thick grey strip acros all seats. Duz have bigger brakes whitch pullz up wikidly!! Iv got sunroof no clock.. Clear 5000i sticker under right rear tailight.. abs/irs badge in centerconsile n stage3 dash, hsv stearing wheel man it duznt end with what it has... any idea how 2 put pix up yet?? What state do u live??
didnt have the red covers or clock but got sv in the interior, sunroof, big brakes, abs/irs, cruise, clear 5000i badge below rear right tailight, hsv stearing wheel Stage 3 dash... any idea how 2 put pics up??

mate i think someone has taken a few different cars and chopped them into a 5000i replica.
sounds a fair bit dodgy to me.
Look under the left hand headlight (4 mount points to remove) and see if the body number matches the VIN number (L123456).
If it's an original engine the prefix may well be different from the "VU" that the normal cars got. I'll have to check the 5000i engine numbers I have recorded.

there has to be 5000i's somewhere tho... theres ment to be 136 and i have only ever seen 2.
compared to vp calais internationals im pretty sure i have heard there were 300 made and
i see them all the time
the only thing i can tell from yout avatar pic is it has chrome around the windows. senators come out black
ok from the pics the interior is just cloth and 5000i's had leather buckets. your engine covers are completley different even the rocka covers. Its manual, 5000i's only came out auto. yet still has the same cloth covered centre console and door trims. thats about all i can tell from the picture. YOUR CAR CONFUSES ME. id say it is real though just someone has be screwing with it too much

The 5000i engines have a "VE" prefix. if it's VU you just have a standard engine.

The "Red" motor will have different engine numbers I'm pretty sure. What are the first couple of letters on the engine number
for example my red engine is ve and standard stato 5L is svu. spexta says he has done a t5 conversion and it flogs worked vn 5L's. whoever has destroyed this mans senator is a dicckk
LOL the famous SVU - CVU prefix debate.
The car was probably stolen and all the bits flogged off to rebirth a car. I doubt that there would be any original bits left in it. And then some one has started putting back what bits they could find.
Sad for one of the nicer looking Commodores ever made. VP Senator is among one of the best.

have you tried validating it through the HSV website?
- go to hsv.com.au
- down the bottom, click 'authenticate'
- enter VIN number
- cry

yeah they do look awesome still but the group a front bar and the side skirts look a bit too.... out of place. each for their own though im just 1 person with an opinion in the end
No car released as an auto only is sexy. Factory manuals are what you want (do i hear prototype SV5000 anyone haha)
