kk Hey guys im new to here, im normaly reading and not posting.
And im only 18 so i dont know as much as you guys :P
Kk firstly i own a 1991 VN Toyota Lexcen.
its a v6 auto and ive recenly had a gas conversion done just before the new finacial year.
When i start the car and beging to drive, the gear change from first to 2nd is rough really rough, the 2nd to 3rd is too but not as much.. as the driving goes on in everday traffic.. they rough changes dissapear.. until it has cooled a bit and i restart it..
towards the back of the car, when i go round roundabouts or just cornering at all.. theres a kind of krinkling metal noice, could this possibly be the tank in the back causing this?
The steering feels a little heavy too sometimes, its usually a bit sluggish, not light and smooth like most cars. is that what it means when the pump is leaking?
Thanks guys

sounds like you need to thrash it m8. Always thrash mine and only minor problems to date.
^^^^^ haha the good old clean out always works on me vp, could possibly be kickdown cable on gearbox as for crumpling metal noise ouch?
shhh now PUPPET
haha maybe i should :P its only the 2nd motor and the cars done 320k haha.. i found out wat the metal was..
Was the gas tank rubbing on the metal behind the rear seat.. just bent the metal away and now.. no noise!! not getting gas done again.. they cant install anything for shit!
first the hose from the petrol cap to the tank was shredded by them.. they dont clean up after themselves.. they left all the metal shavings in the boot.. and being a vn the lights tend to leak.. so now theres all this rust everywhere.. and then that noise but its good now..
ive rememberd a few more problems ive had.. when its idling in drive when im at an intersection or something.. its rough as hell and also.. when im driving along theres this moaning sound at around 1500rpm :|
could that be the gas too? i wonder its chances seem high lol..
btw thanks for some input.. keep it coming!

mate what colour is the trans oil.
do a service, plugs and leads to see if that helps the roughness.
cheack for rock hard vac hoses around the engine.
Well, the ignition leads were all changed out with new ones a few months back.. and i dont think the plugs are all that old either, i havent checked the oil yet.. but that could possibly be it..
also.. the power steering on a vn? how light is it suppose to be? Ive driven a vt and that is pretty nice and easy to drive.. so is the vn similar to that or is it just heaver coz its older?

vt's are slighly easeir, it shoudnt be to hard to turn the wheel, i can easily turn mine with one hand on the spot, and while driving i can probably use my pinkie in the spoke of the wheel lol
