g'day, got a bit of a question about the new VE gts brakes. will they fit the VP? i have heard rumors that they do fit but im still a bit sceptical.
cheers jono
Probably with significant modifications however there are many other kits available that will do the same thing with a ton less hassle off the shelf.
Reaper
they'd be 15 times the size of your rims lol
not to mention they cost about as much as a VP
hit up Not_a_abba_fan.. he supplies them, around $700-800 I think.
Sorry, but I didn't see the gts. My sincere apologies to you..
ah k, i have the vt upgrade already but it seems to be not as good as i would have hoped. i mean, i drive a 2006 tarago for toyota, and its brakes are better than mine..... seems kinda strange seeing as the tarago has 1 pot front brakes and mine are twin... and yes discs are freshly machined and have like 8mm of pad left.
look up the gtr caliper conversion i plan to do this to my vs. the standard r33 gtr calipers are 4 pots and with a mofied bracket avaible off ebay will fit straight onto ur vp then get some vt rotors and ur set

Ive been looking at replacing my brakes, Im goin to chuck in new rotors. not sure weather to get slotted ones or not and new pads. Ive read that you can change the master cylinder to a VP or VN SS master cylinder and it makes the breaks that bit better. And a line locker for the rears to stop me form having to replace them again, no one has done a write up about installing a line locker in a VN so thats coming soon.
If you want big brakes, go buy an aftermarket set of brakes (AP, Brembo, Alcon). You should then pull up on a 5 cent piece. Get massive brakes for the front, and just a VT twin piston upgrade for the rear.
Will cost you a bit though.

yeh. i think i have the origonal booster lol so ill try that, also was driving round in the wet for the first time today, its very slidy on the corners and roundabouts. i have to slow right down to like 20-35km/h to make it round without swinging out or understeering. is this normal?
Nope - get better tyres. 215's are a big help.
And I've just done a VT booster M/C upgrade with stock calipers and all I can say is WOW.
Bank for buck - 10 out of 10. Wont be spending any more $$ on bigger calipers at all. I run 3 VN's and a VZ. 1 more VN to upgrade on the brakes.

ok ill try new tyres, maybe yokohama or sumthing expensive. you get what you pay for i guess. also where do i post up pics of my car? is there like a thread or sumthing?
hmmm i dont recall saying tight.

sweet thanks mate!
i have coverd this in other threads and forums you need to machine the rotors and it is wise to use ve studs and wheels the calipers have same mount as vt-vz
ok can you show me the threads please im very interested. i want big stopping power but i also want the sweet gts logo on the calipers
hehe kinda stupid but its all about personalization.
buy vz gts brakes
shane, is that a pretty straightforward swap? can i use the same lines, and if not is it hard to change etc? i bet it's been covered before, but i'm really tired and can't be bothered searching.
i'll be needing new rotors and pads soon, so i may as well spend $50 and get the vt booster and master cylinder while i'm at it.
