Default Power Steering..Most likely nothing.. But, never no!

    Howdy fello commy owners

I have a Q RE: my Power Steering Pump.

Now, every so often when I turn it will make a noise.. like a loud 'MMMMMM' sound..
Is my P/W on its way out.. Or might it need a Fluid Change? It doesn't leak, which is good

But, really.. I think im worrying about nothing

Didint think to look IN THE PUMP! lol..

It's fluid is quite low.. so the noise is most likely due to it being close to empty..

LOL. Check fluid , then post and worry! LMFAO

gona buy some fluid tomoro and see how she goes

If the noise persists after you fill it up it is because air got into the system from the fluid being too low. To bleed the steering, raise the front wheels and with the engine running, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times until the noise disappears.

Yeah i was going to say, how are the fluid levels in your reservoir. I keep a bottle of P/S fluid with me as mine leaks now and then and it does the same.

Lucas Oil Products of Australia, Heavy Duty and High Performance Oils and Problem Solving Lubricants for Cars, Trucks, Motor Cycles, Industry and Motorsports - Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak

Not sure if you are interested or need it but i'm going to give this product a go. They're a reputable company and i haven't heard anything bad about them, and i'm sick to death of cleaning the driveway so why not.

some power steering pumps will make the 'moo-cow' noise even when they're good. i know mine does and it's a reco . but yeah the noise will get louder if the fluid drops, so just keep an eye on that. also make sure you're filling it to the correct level depending on whether it's hot or cold.
