hi i just put in a pod filter into my vp s pack, its not running inside the engine bay its runnin alonside the radiator right up against the slits in the front bumper, my question is should i hear an almost whistle/ sucking noise when the car is in park. but when im driving i cant hear the noise from inside the car, can any1 help me cause a friend told me it might be fitted wrong thats why it makes that loud sucking noise. i must say its not decreasing the performance and i have noticed it accelerates alot harder. can any1 here tell me if i did it wrong or if its all good and it just the pod filter i have.![]()

btw if any1 needs 2 see pics just ask and i can take some to help
Yes. That's air being sucked in through the pod filter. It's not increasing your performance, it's just improving your throttle response, your accelerator pedal feels a bit tighter when you push on it correct?
Don't worry, it's normal, all pod filters do that. That's one of the main reasons alot of people put them on, just for the sucking noise. It's quite lame i know, but it's true.

Not sure about S.A, but in Victoria it's defectable.

I dont know if they are actually illegal
but if a cop sees it, hold your breathe....
i had a pod filter on my old vn. got a roadworthy with it on, was also pulled over twice in that car and neither of the cops had a problem with it. this is vic though, and the laws may have changed since then. you never know.
if you want to keep it you better shield it from the engine bay. no point sucking up all that air if it's all hot, you'd be better off with the stock airbox![]()
(VIC)it's not defectable as long as you have either a pod OR intercooler. (dont ask me why, its a retarded rule)
so for most commodores, it doesnt matter.
You're probably wondering where you are. I'll tell you where you might be. You might be in the room that you die in. This is your wake up call.
^^^^im confused to plz explain
shhh now PUPPET
in vic you are only allowed to make one modification to the intake. so what he means is that if you had an intercooler and a pod, that's 2 modifications, thus defectable. however you'd only run an intercooler if you had a supercharger, and a supercharger is a modifcation to the intake (assuming it's not stock), so you could get defected for having a supercharger and an intercooler under the 1 modification rule, not to even mention the pod filter on top of that! of course, that's the least of your worries if you did decide to supercharge your car.
haha i have no idea why turbo didn't even cross my mind. i should have said forced induction![]()
The entire VIC EPA rules in the pdf are dodgy asyou can read them almost anyway you want. You can pretty much read it as if a supercharger with lpg is 100% legal if you have your glasses on right

i believe in the tooth fairy....and more so now cause at my age they all falling out lol
CAI ftw. stuff pod filters
In qld it is ileagle to have a pod filter. but in saying that i drove mine around for 6mths with the pod filter and supercharger. I had to remove the charger because it wasnt mod plated. But haven t had any problems with the pod yet. Im still runnin the pod because i dont have the airbox anymore and im planning to do a v8 conversion![]()
qld rules state that it must be enclosed in a box.
you could make a pretty clear box and fit the pod inside and aslong as it was secure you are ok in qld.
now if you have to start drilling holes to fit the box then that is another matter again.
