Got a bit of a weird one here, it's been going on for a while and i paid no attention to it until yesterday. i was driving to the shop for some smokes and noticed that every time i let off the throttle the speedo would jump 30-40 kms above what i was doing, it'd be fine as long as i was on the throttle, this morning driving to work it was jumping an easy 60kms out each way it wouldn't sit on a speed no matter how steady i kept the speed, i actually don't know what , speed im driving at, just driving at what i think is right, and going off other cars
a little help here would be much appreciated, i just want it t be the sensor in the gearbox, but if it's not.... lets just hope it's that
i had a similar problem, it was the speed sender on the gearbox, kinda started acting like a tacho. put the foot down and it'd jump to ~80 really fast, then drop down. then 2 days later it died completely.
when it died i it made the car stall out (maybe cos no speed reading to the ecu) only thing was i was halfway through a left turn at the time, so no power, steering locking tab clicked on with the wheel at left lock, jumped the kerb a bit into a park.
Hmmm sounds like not much fun... i'll have a quick look around today thing is i finish work at 2... latest wreckers here closes at 1:30
i had the same thing happen to me on the hwy pull over and it was a fuse that went put a new one in and worked have a look at ur fuse the ones under ur car steering wheel
With a L3 cluster press and hold the mode and set when turning on the car to bring up the test screens.
Mode 3 has the digital speedo. See if this jumps around in line with the dial. If so I'd be sus on the speed sensor.
