VQ 5ltr Stalling Issue

Hey all,

My stato has a bit of a strange issue, Developed today...
Starts fine, Drives fine, I go to stop, put her in Park, revs drop like crazy & stalls.

However if you start it in park, She idles smooth,
I've cleaned the IAC & TPS aswell as resetting the ECU.

Little baffled.

Any suggestions so I can have a bit of a think tonight?

Hmm that's what mine is doing as well (but different engine). But only sometimes and does not actually stall even though revs drop to about 100-200. I'm not to worried about it but if you get it sorted i'd like to know as well.

EDIT Mine was worse than that though at one point, the mechanic had to replace IAC Twice until it worked again.

what you said is exactly how mine was when i converted to manual and it was because the speedo wasnt plugged in.

so might be speedo related(loose connection/dirty terminals)

my ute did that for a while, ended up changing the ignition module and the problem stopped.

also the revs used to hunt up and down about 300rpm either side of 900rpm at idle and now they dont... might be something worth swapping with someone elses for a day to see if the problem goes away??

Shes not stalling anymore, wd40'd a bunch of plugs all throughout the engine bay, seems the goods... so far
