Hey guys, got a VN commodore 1990 auto, had to replace the power steering pump recently , 4 new tires and a new fan belt smaller one cause had to cut of AC unit for now.
went for a drive power steerin works like a charm but a loud grinding and vibrating noise comes from the engine... at first i thought it was the bearings but yeh then relized it was comming from the engine.
the noise seems to get louder and the vibrations more intense as i accelerate.
any ideas would be awesome lol stumped on this one! :P
Cheers!
Check your,
Spark Plugs/Leads
Coilpack
Engine Mounts
Fan belt (Is it tight)
Check oil levels, (just to make sure its not running empty or close to it)
Also, check your exhaust from the engine..may have started to come lose and have cracked
Is your car hard to start up, or does it usually kick in first go?
Also, to give us more info..can you do a ECU check?
check this out if you duno how to check the ECU for error's

Silly question but by getting a shorter belt you didn't accidently run the water pump backwards did you??? I am pretty sure it runs the opposite direction to the other pulleys in the normal situation!
Cheers........................Pete!
