havent had my vn long (month or so ) it had an air pod fited when i got it ...i was wondering what would be better...the pod or the cai ....thx for ya help![]()
If the pod doesnt have heatshielding or isnt in a box then the CAI will be 'probably' better.
i reckon cai. least your not sucking in hot engine bay air. As long as the cai has a decent filter(ie k@n) it would be better.
thx heaps ery1 i know is telling me the pod will give more power but i recon it was better with the stocky on it witch i had on for roadworthy inspec
Pods are great when set up properly on engines that need the airflow, and also where they are properly ducted. They are also good if you like intake noise. As far as Commodores go, a decent panel filter such as K&N and a CAI are your best bets.

I have a CAI and it made a difference to my power(only a little bit) and my fuel economy(about 30km per tank extra) I got it off ebay not to expensive. I have heard that Pod filters can give you more power but they suck in a lot of hot air as well which isnt the best fo power. What ever you do i recomend you use a K&n filter(either pod or flat)

go to your holden dealer for the CAi.. 60 quid or something..
yeah get the VS S/C CAI from your local holden dealer. dont worry about buying the bottom of the airbox as it is easy to cut to make the larger piping fit. easy job just got to drill 3 holes in the fan cover on top of the radiator.
