no speedo light

I have just bought a VN executive, (white), beautiful car. old people owned it, they bought it off the police. it still has all paperwork that shows what options the police ordered the car with. (very interesting), the only problem I found is the speedo light wont work and I tried to replace the globe, but cant find where it goes, looks like there is no hole for it, although there are other globes there for gauges etc. can anyone help me out with this. its a pain with no speedo light. Thankyou.

take the cluster out of the dash, and check the globes behind cluster

lol is there a weird looking globe at the top of the cluster. u need to replace that globe

What is that for. that doesnt look like the speedo light to me. I mean the light in behind the speedo face, the one that makes the numbers and needle glow. what is that other one for anyway, some sort of key light, surly its not the speedo light. my dad has owned a couple of VN's and ive never noticed anything like that before.

its only on the ex cops. that light shines onto the needle so u can tell what speed your doing when your lights are off. thats your speedo light

how weird is that. Thankyou heaps for letting me know about this. I wonder what the police would have used this for. The globe was blown anyway its all fixed and working now, so Thankyou for helping me.
