    Default connecting rod removing

    hey peoples can someone help me and explain the easiest way to remove the connecting rod from piston, im rebuilding my 3.8 and have to use my old connecting rods for new pistons but cant work out how to get'em off im use to working on little pistons that have a circlip holding them these dont so ant input would be great thanks

    Yeah, you need a press to push them out, as they are an interferance fit in the rod. Sometimes you can get away with it in a vice, if it is big enough, but it is clumsy that way. You need to support the piston, have something slightly smaller than the pin to push with, yet have a hole underneath for the pin to pass through. I would ask a local garage if you don't have a press, might cost $20, but will save a lot of grief. Good luck

    thought as much cheers mate i'll drop'em off at the re conditioner where mi blocks gettin bored on monday ill get them to do it

    Yeah best to get a reco to do it theyll have something that supports it better to push them out
