if you PAY a pannel beater to put a bodykit on your car and paint it, then 2 years later the screws have come undone and the bodykit comes off the car while your driving along the bloody hwy should the pannel beater be asked to replace/fix the bodykit or am i up s*&t creek?
Real cars don't power the front wheels, they lift them
2 years is a fair, fair while. I can't really imagine the beater going "I'm gonna be cheap so that it falls off in TWO years". Shit happens. It sounds to me like the screws just came loose and the thing fell off.
On top of that, you really don't have any way to prove that you didn't take it off yourself within those two years.
Also, how much of it fell off, the entire thing? Just one piece?
yeah, hate to agree against ya case, but two years is a blooming long time. fix it urself..
unless it was insurance work, and your insurance company authorized the repairs and cover you for the lifetime of the repairs. And then, you'd STILL have to prove you never tampered/removed the kit...
did they come loose due to abuse gutter bashing and speed hump damage ???? maybe some general maintance would have helped and the loose screw may have been discovered long before parts of the body kit come off ??? 2 yrs of fair wear and tear .. was it the screws or the fiber glass cracking around the screws ???
^^^^maintenance is the key u should have noticed a gap forming in kit or loose screws

paid in cashand the drivers sideskirt screw`s come un-done and the reabar snaped in half ,when the side screw`s coem undone the wind grabed it and riped it clean in half
since ihad it done i had been complaining that the kit never did fit onto the car very well and that the screw`s they have used was for wood not metal, but everytime i did complain all i got was oww coem back later, we carnt help you etc etc, but ill see what fairtrading has to offer on monday anyways

if you have complained since day one then you have a good case getting flogged off by the panel beater is common paying in cash is not always a great as now there is no record of the job being done there or by them so good luck with your case .... next time get a invoice and not a hand written one either
You complained soo often & you couldnt spend an hour to replace the screws if it worried you?
They did there job, Paint & Fit the kit...

Your bullshit arguement is like,
I bought a brand new car, I havent serviced it in 2years because it's new.. NOW IT BLEW UP...

I bought a bodykit, got it painted, 2 years later a screw came out an its ****ed...
madsav- you have a whole lot of incompetance, thats about it

Some shonky panel beater who you paid in cash and didn't receipt your money, who has blown you off already a few times when you returned, is not going to replace or repair the damage 2 years after the fact.
You will also be hard pressed to lodge any form of official complaint without paper work, as this boils down to he said/she said. The person who fitted your kit could well deny ever seeing you for instance.
And looks like a win, fairtrading advise me to ask him 1 last time to fix the job if refused they will take it into there hands, im so glad i kept photos of shotty pannelbeaters handy work ,photos of the screws coming out 2 days after the job was done, lol even they agreed i should not have to fix a job that was supposed to be correctly
so i guess my (incompetance) will pay off.
but i do suppose if i ask a builder to build me a house and it comes down afew years later due to a half ass job done i guess im to blame because i trusted the job to be done 100%
meh not work the argument

You got a shitty fibreglass bodykit fitted to a car...
It has nothing to do with what they did, Just because the bodykit did not have the correct mounting holes or anything..
THEY DID WHAT YOU ASKED!
Fk fairtrading, Now it just sounds like your too ****ing lazy to keep up a little maintenance so therefore your looking at stinging the blokes originally.

On the topic of fair trading, about 2 years ago I had some tyres fitted to my car. After I had got them, I realised that they were ridiculously soft, so I complained but they said that's just the way the tyres were. Anyway, 2 years later, I got pulled up by the cops and got fined for having bald tyres. Is there any way I can get the tyre company to put new tyres on my car and pay the fine for me? I mean, I expected that the tyres would have lasted more than 2 years. I didn't realise that the tyre company expected ME to check the tread every now and then. I thought cars maintained themselves?

Fiberglass, plastic doesnt matter, If the screws are not the correct screws for the job and 2 days later they have started to come loose thats just crap, you go to a place to pay good money and expect quality, not everyone knows where the good places are, but its a company that is suppose to specialise in things like this and how meny other bodykits have they fitted using the wrong screws?
But still you left your run abit late, but if you can get something out of it well why not, You pay for a job to get done, and when the screws came loose 2 days after why should you have to get the correct screws and do it yourself, you would have done that in the first place if you knew it would be like that, you pay for someone to do the job for you, not fix up there Fudge ups a couple days later.

Hmmm, always 2 sides to every story.....Sounds to me like this is the bullshit side.
i'm not taking his side, but when you pay for a job to be done right it should be. but yes there is always another side to the story.
