hey guys. with the heavy rain we had last night in melbourne i happened to go through a puddle that i couldnt avoid and didnt see till last second. there was no problems at first and i drove my car and it started fine 3 hours later and no problems the next day (today) until later on tonight i started the car and got and the engine light came on. i checked it when i got home and got error 43 - knock sensor circuit problem. what can i do to fix this and where is the knock sensor on a vp v6? any help would be appreciated.
George
The Knock sensor is on the Block, on the drivers side down near the oil filter, not the oil sensor its behind that just about, Maybe just replace it might be the best way. or the plug may have came off

ah yea, i know where it is now. ill have to have a look tomorrow morning and see whats going on down there. what is the knock sensor actually doing?
the knock sensor protects against detonation by retarding the timing if it detects pinging. early 5ltrs did without them![]()
i had a look and everything looked fine. i started the car today and the engine light didnt come on at all so far. see how we go.

Most likely just some water in the connection, it can act as an earth and send a different signal to the computer or something.
