    Default VP Ute

Okay guys, I was having a look at a VP ute today at a caryard - I think the utes are VG but I thought that was just for the VN utes so yeh, anyways.

Its got standard rims all round, and on the rear the tyres seem to be wearing on the outside........? Whats this mean? Could it just be that the tyres are over inflated for the weight that the vehicle is carrying?

I didn't really have to much of a look, but I think the front tyres were new, so hard to tell there.

Also, its a Red VP ute, v6 auto with gas and a canopy on the back, and its got like 340,000 kms. Worth 3 grand?

My guess would be, it has an alignment or camber issue on the front. When they fitted new tires they would have rotated the (old) front tires to the back, and put the new tires on the front.

I wouldnt be umming and ahhing about the 3 grand personelly.
Utes are more expensive and hold there value well, so 3 grand is a fair price, especially if the body is straight.
But for 4-5 grand you could buy a VS ute with less Km's and not on gas.
Gas is good, but from what ive seen high km engines on Gas just seems to scream trouble.

Yeh the bodys not in bad nic, not perfect but its not too bad.

Yeh, I hadn't thought about it like that. The gas is not a problem for me, but the fact that the engine has high klms (dunno if its had a rebuild/swap or anything) could make it a problem.

I'm hoping to go have another look at it, because when I saw it it was locked up, so could only have a look from the outside. Couldn't start it or anything.

Yeh, the utes are good for holding their price - especially the VS utes. Although most that I see seem to go for around 6500 - 9 grand........

Also - cheers andrew426, that would make perfect sense.

Tires on the back, that wear like that are mostly because they are flat and has been driven alot with them like that, also if it had a load would be worse, i am not sure about utes but if it was me i would be trying to get it down as much as possible and looking for another v6.

Yeh, its not like the v6s are expensive or anything.

But doubt I'll get it anyway, while I kinda like it, I'd still rather own a HZ or WB. Or maybe a VS wouldn't be bad either, but they're too pricey, and plus, I like the fact that I stand out a bit more with a wb than I would a commodore.
But if I get time in the next coupla days, I might go have a proper look at it.
