    Default starting problem

    Hey guys,
Yeah I know another agh start ya basterd thread.

Car is: mums 93 vp v6 auto

Problem: hard to start somtimes, but every time you start it in the last week, it starts running real rough then idels to 2grand for about 15secs then drops down to about 1grand.... I've tried a new CAS and not long ago replaced fuel pump. Was thinking maybe DFI but its only on start... have checked all lines for vac leaks and earths. Only had a few hours tonight to have a look for her.

Also (saves starting a new thread) 93 vr will motor and box fit vp? What other parts fit??

    Cheers
    Jay

I would be Leaning towards the IAC (Ideal Air Controll), its on the Throttle body, that controlls the idle RPM if could need a good clean, you should try cleaning the T/B out with T/B cleaner, also if the engine light has came on as some stage you should check the Error codes to see what sensors have came up, but i would start with cleaning the sensor out.

The VR motor will bolt up but the auto is electronic not cable, so the motor is a clean swap considering it should be the same as whats in your car atm.

I didn't think the first vr's had electric gearboxes?

As for error codes there coming up with fine. I did clean the throttle body about 2 weeks before this started happining. Maybe this has somthing to do with the problem

Check the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum line off it and see if it has fuel in it.
