    Smile Make VN Wagon Louder?

I have a 1990 Automatic VN wagon, Everything on it so far, is completely STOCK.
I was wanting to make it louder. Prior to my VN I've only owned 'import' or 'jappa' cars. I had a Celica and a S13 Silvia. And with both those models all I did was wack a $100 Cannon from Autobarn on them and a pod filter, and that was all that was needed to make them sound great.
But, I don't very well want to put a cannon, on my VN, not to mention it'd look stupid as ****.
I dont have the money for extractors, and I dont wanna 'chop' my exhaust as I want to try and Keep this thing legal as the tail-lights (tinted) are already causing me enough trouble.
So far I've seen these which I dont think would look TOO bad on my VN but I'm more concerned about the sound. Also I have a pod filter, would it be worth putting on my VN along with one of these exhausts maybe?:

(I know its virtually a cannon, but at least the pipe is angled down and looks less "import")

    Or this:

Which I dont know if it'd look better angled down, or up like it is in the photo...

Which of these 2 would make a bigger difference in the sound,
    one final thing.

i personally wouldn't be seen dead with either of those on my car. Ther isnt much point in just putting a tip on to make your car louder, as all that will do is bring you attention. wait a little while save up and buy a whole exhaust system so that ur atleast making your car louder whilst gaining power. That way you wont look like such a tool. if i was you id go for a 3" dump tip or twin 2.5" dump tip

extractors 2.5 inch hi-flow cat and 2.5 inch cat back exaust will give a power gain as well as making it louder and rumble more like a v8
