Default What is this called? vn/vq interior

Im in the process of doing a vq dash into my vn and i have hit a few problems.

First i damaged the windscreen panel that covers the main mounting locations on my vn dash, was already cracked before i got to it though.
now on my vq dash im putting in i have no panel at the monment. what is this plastic windscreen dash panel called, how do u remove it from the dash and are they the same across vn vp vq?

second the vq dash came with no speaker grills and my vn ones dont fit. do only vq ones fit or do vp also? where can i find some, and how much would i be looking at?

hmm. are you talking about the dash surround that houses the buttons, or the clear plastic lens covering the cluster? to remove the surround there are 4 screws that you access from underneath. it's pretty self explanatory once you do it. then unscrew the cluster and take that out. with the dash out, it's also pretty self explanatory to take the lens off.

i am surprised that the speaker grills don't fit because i thought a vq dash was the same a vn one. could be wrong though. wreckers would be a fantastic place to start

Like levy said, speaker grills should fit, all the dashs are identical, only the colour changes (or strips added). You have to twist them sideways to get them in properly (and this is how you get them out without breaking them).

If your talking about the leanse covering the cluster, theres just 3 screws along the bottom, and 2 'clips' on the top.

The cluster "lens" is different from L1/2 clusters to L3 cluster. If you have a broken unit you may need to get a complete cluster for the parts of find some one that has lots of spare parts.

no nothing to do with the cluster. the crash pad itself. i have changed the entire dash from a vn one to a vq one.

now theres a plastic strip about 1.5 inchs wide that runs alonmg the bottom of the windscreen and is connected to the crashpad covering the three main bolts holding the dash in. now i need to know how to remove and insert this strip. cause i need to put one on my vq dash.

The panels at the base of the windscreen/top of the dash are held in place by 5 or 6 of those small black screws, you'll need a small screwdriver that will fit between the screw and the windscreen to get them out, it can be quite frustrating!
