    Default code 44 beat down

    changed o2 sencor ,cheanged wiring harness,checked earth,check volts,reset computer,
3rd o2 sencor in 2 months ...since its to the point of really pissing me off i have to ask could the darn engine light be still coming on due to the o2 sencor not likeing the pacemaker headders?

O2 sensor lean code could be getting cold in the long headers or the cars running lean

Car is running lean, just tryed changing spark plug leads
    Changed MAP sencor
To morrow going to try a new set of injectors and change over the fuel pressure regulater
Also is it known for pacemaker extractors might have a leak or crack been on the car for about 6 years

mate this problem is so simple - i gather from the first post you run pacemakers? the oxy sensor is not in the optimal position. you need to drill a thread (or hole and weld a nut) closer to the location of normal headers and weld up the old hole. problem solved & thread closed.

Yep mate running pacmakers , already moves the O2 sencor to as close to normal postion as possable, Looking over the Car manual the only 2 things iam yet to look at is (Check and inspect the left exhaust manifold for cracks leaks and renew if needed)(Check fuel supply for water in the fuel tank)
Or im guessing that maybe this problem may be normal due to not being Dyno-tuned but then again i havent heard anyone else complain....That i know of

what's your economy like? i get the engine light and oxy sensor code because i run gas but i don't think about it twice. if your economy is reasonable then i wouldn't worry about it

    my two cents...

Running a set of pacies in my 6, and had O2 errors all the time. I tried everything, and it was doing my f'n head in..

Turns out that my car, the O2 sensor and ethanol fuel don't get along...

I cleaned the O2 sensor, rest computer and ditched the hippie fuel, no probs since...
(that either fixed it, or the engine light burnt out) but either way, she runs heaps better...

My brother is having a similar in my handed down VN Wagon. I changed the O2 sensor a while ago, seeing as it was gettin 20l/100km or so, changed it and it dropped to ~16-17l/100km.

Now its shot up again (8,000kms later) to about 180kms a tank! in a wagon! thats 68 litres!
Also the engine oil turned pitch black after ~ 1,000 kms after i serviced it. No idea why that would happen!

Use a heated sensor liek delco wizzid said, the V6 pacemakers just don't get hot enough, the sensor can't figure out what is going on and it will alternate from very rich to very lean. You could also try wraping that header in header tape (probably would fix your problem)

Ok just to keep everyone up to date, still have not found the reason why code 44 is poping up, heres the update": Start it up rev it aabit and alot of black smoke is coming out, its also all ova the rear bar.
Ive spent just ova $60 on hoses and changed all the vacume lines i possably can and the basted of a car still still showing code 44 ,but only comes on after norm running temp is achived
So now if anyone has any other idea for me to try that would be great lol
