knocking noise when i start my car and wont stop i need help

hi ive had my vp v6 for a year and jus the other day a large knocking noise started coming from the engine my mate sed it as he idler pully so i got a new one and put it on but it didnt fix it but th sound is coming from the belt area and im not shor if it is ok to drive still

may be timing chain balance shaft bearings is there enough oil getting up top........does it still drive ok????
does the knock get louder as it warms up or stay the same need info mate lol

Get a mechanic to check the Harmonic Balancer. The rubber coupling breaks up after a few years and the pulley rattles around all over the place. Wouldn't advise driving it too far too often.

my vn did that and it was the harmonic balancer

yeah mate check the balancer.
if you can rock er outer ring with little effort then it is cactus.
VERY common fault and bangs like hell.

also very common to bottom end knocks, prey its not, or your up for a new engine.

i took it to a nother mate and found out that the hamonic blencer was stuffed gota new one for $181 and the puller to so i hop thats the only thing thats wrong thanks for all the help
