    Default vq manual conversion

i have a vq 5L and my auto has shat itself, only first gear left. was wondering what i would need to do a manual conversion if i pick up a normal 5l 5sp will the tail shaft fit or not? 1 of my mates has a 5L berlina that has been stripped and i may be able to buy it.

The tailshaft you could just use the front from the donor car, and the rear from your VQ.

Thats all you'll need thats different. You 'may' have to drill new holes for the crossmember (support). Also, don't let anyone tell you you wont be able to use the computer in there now, my car has been running with a VQ Computer for years.

yeh you will need a manual tailshaft and as stealthy said about the computer, you wont need to change it, im actually running one from an auto vn v6 lol in my 5ltr without a problem.

if you want to see a manual in a vq have a look at mortons thread starting from page 8 about half way down, bit of info in there and he helped with my conversion too.
