    Cool dancing speedo

hey guys, i was cruising home the other night and everything was running fine. i stopped at the lights and when i took off, i noticed the speedo was jumping around. it was still working but jumping around 10-15k. then all of a sudden it would go to zero and back up again and dance around . what could this be? could it be the speedo sensor on the box? hasn't shown up any error codes at all. its a vp v6 with a t5 behind it. any help would be muchly appreciated.

    thanx,

    George

Not necessarily the speedo sensor or the speedo actuator in the dash.
Those exact symptoms on my car turned out to be a short between the reversing light and indicators in the rear harness. Easy way to tell is to check your reversing light fuse. If it's blown then that's your problem. My short turned out to be in the towing plug thing loom. You can unplug the rear looms and plug them back in one at a time from the boot to see which one is at fault. On VN-VP those rear looms are buggers for failing anyway and only cost $20-$30 new.

A failed speedo sensor fuse will give the same problem (for this threads future reference)
