vn buick loom to vp buick loom
vr ecotec to vx ecotec
Someone might know more than me when i comes to the differences between the different series of VN and how they differ from the VP, however I do know that VN seriesI and VP looms Are slightly different in a few ways. The first being the Alternator, the wires for the alternator will not reach around on a vn engine with a vp loom because the alternator is positoined differently in it's bracket, easy fix though, take the alternator off, undo the 4 screws around it and spin the bracket 90 degrees and screw it back in. Much more difficult however is a) the VP uses a different oxygen sensor which requires 2 wires while the VN compatible sensor uses only 1 wire. And also b) to run the VN engine you will need to use a VN computer which will definately require at least modification to the VP loom so that all the wires connect in the right places. And finally c) the connector on the VP loom for all the dash functions is different to the connector on the VN dash so you will need to cut one off and replace it with the compatible connector.
All in all you are probably much better off to go source yourself a good conditioned VN loom from the correct series model to go with your engine.
