Hey guys i was wondering what would win in a drag my vn ss or my mates 1990 300zx vg30 stock with two cannons stock pipe work and new 1 piece tailshaft. My SSis putting out 144.5kw @ the dyno - 5litre 304, extractors,3.0.8 LSD, 2.5" exhaust, VS V8 cold air intake with vs v8 air box with K & N Filter, Nolathane Strut Brace,Kmac Lowered Suspension,Dunlop SP3000a 17" 235 x 45. Maybe had some chip or trans work note sure but happy with the power only owning for 1 month.
Would luv 2 line it up at the drags and awating my gtech pro in the post. Got it off ebay.![]()

Your ss would kick the sh*t out of a n/a 300zx. If it was twin turbo, well thats another story![]()

how much did you pick your g-tech up for subdue?
Your car puts out 144.5Kw, weighs 1400Kg and run a 0-100kph around 7 secs. Your mates Z would have 130RWKw max in its best form and weighs 1500Kg's. It would probablly run a 0-100kph in the 8's. More of a match for a v6 commodore.
i stuck with one till about 75 (then we both stopped due to cop car coming the other way)
i have a V6, you should destroy him with your 'point and shoot' car
those 300zx motors are fairly crap apparently , and once turboed they dont last very long.
you have a better car all round, and two less cannons as well :P
i would probally say the 300 would take off quicker but the vn will do everything else after that
In a straightline you will destroy the 300. But around corners and such the 300 will be alot better (providing your commo doesnt have ALOT of work)
non turbo 300zx's put out about 168 - 170kw stock.. (according to red book)
and weight 1500kg....
300zx motors are only crap because they are a bitch to work on, get a picture of a 300zx engine bay and you'll see why

But get a twin turbo model, do some minor work and that 300zx should be a real rocket ship.
Hey guys as far as i know hes taken a few 5L... VT SS, XR8 AU ute, lexo 4l v8, VQ stateo and a VN...
Frank (azzurro on this forum and aus300zx.com) says his car is good for 14.5 as a non turbo and doesnt even waste his time on Buiks :my:
So he admits i have more power but he rekons his 300 has a superior body and technology in his motor....
So im not sure if i will do a mid, low or high 14.. we will see!!![]()

your cars nice though and sure it would be close but the zx would take you i think, mind you i took a 200zx and an old turbo celica (1980's something) on tonkin HWY and as my mate will testify my nearly stock VP blew them both away?

Did u say steak? lol nah we all know the commodores are heavy but so is the z its not like im wanted 2 test it out againts a wrx or gti R pulsar. I know my limits and untill i get the funds it wont happen. if you can, can you drag him on a closed circut with proper results, im not a huge fan of street draging, it prooves nothing there is to many veriables, on the proper strip is where you see the real results.

if your pushing 145 rwkw, id say your looking at a 14.5 over 1/4.
yeah im not 2 happy with the numbers i gota get some more mods done, new diff gears,3" plus a crow cam but its all time and $
