hi
i have a vp "s" and its fitted with the standard security imoboliser, and door unlocking black key tag. i have changed the batteries on both the key tags and replaced with brand new batteries and still the imoboliser wont turn off and doors wont unlock. is there something wrong and does any1 know how to stop this. btw they worked perfectly fine b4 and now its stopped workin can any1 help thanks chris
You could try pulling the tag apart and checking the switch with a multimeter, switch can be disassembled (very carefully) and cleaned with contact cleaner if it's not working properly.

they all look fair good 2 me, might just take it to an auto elect might be betta see what they say
come on people this must have happened to other vp owners i need help even if it means to get some1 else to fix it
yea the red light flashes and u think it will open but it doesnt. i have read up and found out that the company that makes them is called mongoose and if u send them back they will fix it or somethin. but i might send them 2 a auto elect mechanic so yea
just letting people know that i took my black key tag thing to a auto elec mechanic today and it cost me $150 to get a brand new 1
had the same problem, in the passengers side door there should be a key slot in the door frame, if you are fortunate enough to still have the security key then you can turn the whole immobiliser system off. other than this i had to go to holden to get the correct security code then get a locksmith to cut a new key costing $150. this turns it off fully so you dont need to use the remotes anymore!
yea i turned the security off for the week but i like having the imobliser running so i got a new tag from holdens.
