Yes another thread by me, in the same day.
How do you tell if your thermo fan is broken / blown ?
Is there any way you can test it without running the car to operating temperature and above ?
Like a way to "Short Circuit" the fan to see if it runs ?
not completely sure but i think it should start when you do that error checking thing with the bridging of the pins under the steering wheel, failing that it should come on when you turn the aircon on at least it does with my vr
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out
And if my A/C dosent work ?![]()
have you earthed the ALDL to check the fan?
yay i'm right for a change... when i'm older i'll look back on this moment of triumph and say that i truly lived

yeah i know thats where you come in dumster you'd know if its the same
besides it works for vt's so i figured it would work on vn/vps as well

such fail this thread is. yes, the aldl loom is under the passenger kick panel. Checking your Computer for Faults (VN - VP). if the engine light is flashing, you're in diagnostic mode, and the fan should be on as well.
you could also bridge the relay to test the fan.
also check this out: How to fit thermo fan bypass switch
there ya go ya learn something new every day lol

yes, the op was told to use the aldl for a VR/VS which is completely different to VN/VP and was even linked to the incorrect guide. i didn't mean any offence to ryno_vrx, everyone makes mistakes and it was just a joke and he laughed it off but you seem to be offended even though you haven't posted anything? and what's your point about the guys other thread about a bypass switch? do you actually expect me to check what threads a user has already posted before i reply to one of them or something?
Cheers... My other thread was just asking, which wire went to what contact on the switch...
This one was just asking how to check if the fan was buggered or not...
1. I never specified the ALDL for the VR/VS, I knew he was referring to a VN so assumed he woulda known it was in the passenger kick.. anyways...
2. umm, check again lol, I had posted something...
3. No, of course I don't..
I just couldn't understand how you could jump in and say this thread was a fail...
I wasn't have a dig at ya, so get over it...
thing is, you didn't provide additional information, that's what I was saying...
oh well, you think it's a fail. good for you.
what part of "it was a joke" are you finding difficult to understand?
you're right though, i only linked to the guide on how to put a VN/VP into diagnostics mode and explained how to know if the car is actually in diagnostics mode or not (because, contrary to your believe, just because someone owns a VN it doesn't mean they automatically know how to put it into diagnostics mode). but of course, by providing a link to a guide and explaining how to know if a car is in diagnostics mode wouldn't be providing additional information would it, because you had it covered with assumption.

i didnt even think about the possibility that there would be a difference between the vr/vs and the vn/vp error checking was a little to sleepy to be thinking straight lol but i was almost semi close lol
and no one else had offered any advice so i figured i'd have a go til someone more experienced with that model came around
