    Default VN door lock

The passenger side door on my '91 vn wont open from the inside or outside with the key, the lock wont push up. Would attempt getting door guards off but having trouble since i cant even open the door.
Anyone had any similar problems or advice,
by the way car novice here

my dad took me 1993 Toyota Lexcen or VP commodore for a drive to the pub one night and he came back with it when i woke up in the morning i went down to me car the two front doors were locked and the lock hole was facing sideways when its supposed to be facing up. i tried to unlock it with the key but wouldn't work so i jumped in the back the back two doors were unlocked i tried climbing through the back seats and manually pushing the lock up but wont budge i don't know whats wrong with it. i don't know if its a deadlock or the locks have ceased, i was thinking about taking the door trim off but then i realized to do that you need the door open lol. And maybe that's whats wrong with your car maybe you have accidentally deadlocked it or they have ceased, you can go to the mechanic and get him to look at your locks and he should be able to tell you if you have deadlocked it or they have ceased.

yeah mate i had the same problem in my 91 vn, i had to pretty much brake the plastic door handle on the out side without damaging the door and then make a tool to push down on the door mechanism.. i had to fiddle with it for a while tho, good luck

if you still want your car although it would be expensive id chop the door off using an angle grinder then slap a new door on, lol, very brutal and expensive, no matter what youd need the new door painted. if its not so much to worry about just put up with it. or as you said wreck it. could get a few of your mates together and do a demo derby if they have some shit boxes laying around, good fun if you got some land :P

i had the same prob with both front doors. the passanger door i took the inner handle off and pulled on the rod and it opened. with the drivers door i managed to pull the door trim off by undoing the lock with the red tab and lifted the door trim up higher and moved it back by poping the inner tabs off that hold the trim on the door and i could get my hand in to push down on the lock mech and it opened
