Hey guys, just throwing this question out there to see some of your opinions on the matter...
Woud I be "silly" to wreck a VP V6 BT1?
Well Im 90% sure it is a BT1, I'm going to buy it, went there today with my girlfriend to check it out with the intentions to dismantle it and put it into my = her VH...
Then I got the Vin and engine numbers of the rego papers. As I was double checking them on the I.D. Tags, (on the left of the two tags on the firewall) it had the first half or so of the Vin number with the lettering BT1 stamped on it.
So does that mean it is a BT1, and its good/rare?
And what 'extra' options were included in them? Basically just an LSD?
We're getting it cheap, and now I'm wondering if its worth fixing it up, and looking for another cheapy for the conversion..?

i had a vn v6 bt1, sold it for the same amount as any other vn. i don't think they are special or worth any more than a regular vn/vp
fe2 suspension, power mirrors, sump guard, different cluster (speedo increments by 2km/h, and there is a light above the speedo needle (no idea why, i think i read that it was to read speedo with lights off although that sounds pretty dangerous to me).
No worse wrecking a BT1 than any other VP, I don't agree with a V6 into a VH SLE but at least if it's a BT1 then you have a decent set of springs also

Yes, just a weee bit dangerous?!! Sounds like they used to play "ghost rider" sneaking up behind people at night? Or just mucking around with the other 'boys' lol,

But seeing as though she's just been sitting there for the last two years, (with no motor of box) just rusting away, it'd be good to see her finally running again... And its the cheapest option to get it back on the road.
Thats definately not ruling out a possible conversion in the future... Something with two more cylinders...!
Body's not too bad, straight as, only a little bit of rust in the spare tyre well - I think the rear windscreen is leaking? Pretty much only have panels to see off it any way, maybe the seats and stuff like that?
Fingers crossed the engines in running order? lol, it apparently was 3 months ago - when the rego ran out..?
LOL, I'm sure there would be some interest for the LSD, but for now, I think we're going to see how it fits under the VH, (yes its 52mm wider, basically an inch either side - the VH already has rolled/flared guards and for the moment we'll be running stockies!)![]()
i know the vn v8 bt1's go for a little bit more but only because its a 5 litre there still nothing special just a ss without the body kit . if you deside to wreck it out pm me i want the instrument cluster been looking for a bt1 dash for ages only because my vn is a stock looking white exec figure i might as well have a theme to it
