Hey guys, I recently bought a commodore VN (early engine model, 125KW)
Preseige condition, never seen one so good
I want to do some engine mods but don't want to change much
I want to get max power with little mods. Really I just want to have the ability to go hard and have the mods help her along, but also help her run normally to make the car last longer..
I have planned:
Stage 3 performance chip (15KW)
Extractors (10-25KW)
70mm throttle body with pod filter (25KW)
So proper tuning around about 190KW (254HP)
This information is from autobarn and I don't know if it's true so correct me if I am wrong.
I also want an exsaust but I don't want a massive one to make it sound like I'm a d**khead wannabe v8 driver with a v6 lol..
any advice on other engine mods like the ones above?
what are the best brands?
I don't want camshafts, turbos or anything like that, just little things that go a long way!!!
ok a stage 3 chip thats an interesting one talk to greanfoam or delco wizzid there the tuners here in the know
unless your heads are ported or ya running turbo a larger throttle body wont help and a pod is just gunna suck hot air in
get some headers a tune from here and a cai and zorst to suit
and 190 kw may be a wee bit more than ya gunna get out of a Buick without forced induction or head work ect

I cant see you makin 190kw with them mods.Force induction would be the way to go
125kw + 5kw + 5kw -10kw = 125?. That's a bit more realistic

Put in a RB25.

Have a quick browse through this old thread to get an idea of how to gain a few tenths without spending big.
Morton's blue VP Executive
That thing would reliably beat standard clapped out V8s in a 0-100 shootout. Sometimes by up to half a car length.

- Intake - pipe one up yourself or use a VS L67 cold air intake
- Exhaust - 2nd hand extractors, 2nd hand 2.5inch cat back (including a rear resonator if you don't want it to sound like a dying cow)
- Tune - greenfoam or delcowizzid will sort you out here, nobody else should you use for tuning. ESPECIALLY a "stage 3 performance chip" from somt tosser at Autobarn.. deserves a good slapping for whoever told you those power figures too!
hahahahaa very much better.
Intake, exhaust, tune, then a tiny cam if you're that way inclined. 992a or something, I don't know.
