Exclamation windscreen wiper dont self cancel and int doesnt work! what could this be!??

Hey guys my windscreen wipers on my vp berlina are having issues.. They stay in the same place when you flick them off in stead of going back down. also the intemedent doesnt work also. Help would be very good cos its going in for rwc soon and all it needs to pass.

    Thanks for any help

Your PCB is burnt out. You will need to replace this. It's not too tricky a job, I did it under 88greenVN's guidance a while ago in my VN switchblock. I lost INT and 1, only had speed 2 or nothing.

See if 88 has a spare you could buy, you might be lucky

On the back of the wiper switch block there is a "PCB" that controlls the wiper speed.

Take the switch block out and inspect the rear of it - 1 of the gold tracks will probably be burnt.

I sell the part for $5.00 plus a little postage or will fit if your in SA as it only takes me 5 mins to do. Easy fix for a pain in the bum problem.

You should probably check the PCB for shorts with a Multimeter. If there are any shorts when you Turn the Knob then the PCB/Other Component is faulty. The other thing you could try is replace the blown Fuse unplug the Wiper Motor and check if the unit still shorts. If so your Motor is probably ok and there is something faulty in the Circuit before it reaches the Motor.
