    Default VN mystery. No spark.

Ok first post here goes. Driving home form a mates place last night i went to take off and the engine just stoped after doing 10km. Coasted to the side of the road tried to restart and it wouldent, NRMA came and established there was no spark. Tow truck took the car home then this morning I tried to start it again and it kicked over straight away so i went for a drive and after 11 km same problem, no spark. Another tow home. this after noon after 6 hours of no spark i tried again and it kicked over straight away. Error codes come up with 12 - system ok.

    any ideas?

It can be a few things - the most common being the CAS. Then the DFI unit or coils.

Sometimes it can be the ECU.

oh - and welcome to JC.

Thankyou, I thaught it was the CAS but all other cases ive seen of the CAS failing it has logged the error and restarted soon after or straight away. Ill change it and see if i have any luck. how do you test the colis? it is a series 2.

With a multi meter - but I'm not up on how to do it.

You could try swapping the ECU/colis if you know some one with spares.
