Ok, so my mate with the VP is looking at a minispool now. I've had a bit of a search around and came up with the diff thread - diff, all you need to know
Now, this says all the diff gears and centres from VN-VT1 will be a straight swap right? But then I came across this thread - IRS diff center and NON-IRS centers
If you read greenfoam's post it says that the IRS centres are slightly different. Can somebody tell me if this is the case? Also, the IRS diffs still used the 28 spline axles and bw78 gears still? What kind of a minispool should he be looking for I spose is the question.
Hi mate in theory they are different (sometimes) which I've been told by a diff guy that rebuilds diffs every day. but I've never been able to see the difference myself, maybe they talk about the hydratrak diff the HSV's used. The guy that sells new centres on ebay told me there is 3 different centres. The good news is gears are the same _allways_ (I have 3.45s from a VL in mine) and it seems to be that the centres are the same, where the mysterious ones are that are different come from and go into I don't know. I know that some of the Ford's definatly use the weird offset centres and maybe that's where the confusion comes from
