Yes another problem with my boot.

Seems this time, i have my keys in my hand this time (lol) BUT the lock barrel is also in my hand too, soo my boot is locked, with no way in ?

Because of my BBQ fuel tank, i cant go through my back seat.

Any way of opening it with a coat hanger or something ?

a long flat blade screw driver worked for me when i had this problem just insert is like a key and turn should pop open

Ive already had that thread of opening the lock, but you see, i have the actual barrel in my hands ahaha

look into the hole the barrel came out of there should be a thin rectanglular hole insert the screw driver into that and turn should pop the boot open

more to the point of umm.. how did you manage this haha! also maybe its time to install a boot release so you dont have yet another boot problem haha

Well it started, when i locked my keys in there.. A while ago, and i used a paddle pop stick to open it LOL , but this time the stick didnt work >__> , so i got my trustworthy screwdriver, and inserted it into the barrel, turned it, and snap. The rod that holds onto the plastic piece of the barrel snapped

So i have the barrel in my hand, and a locked boot whitch i cannot access till tomorrow, (its dark)

well if the rod that releases the boot has snapped.. then its impossible to access your boot? have you contacted a locksmith at all?

there are a few ways i can think of that might be able to et you into your boot but it would cause some fair damage.. and having a gas tank just makes things so much harder lol.

but i say.. if you get this boot open.. get your butt down to the wreckers and get yourself the an electronic solenoid. and the wire that runs from the glovebox to the boot. and install a boot release haha.. mine had a lever and cable.. but i got a set of after market keys which had a boot release button which i utelised by getting a solenoid. and mine being a lexcen. the wire was already there, just hidden away unused so it was pretty easy for me.

I reckon the boot release is the way to go, in the mean time maybe try a pair of needle node pliers to lull or twist the steel rod that releases the boot mechanism. Good luck mate.

Got it open, took it to my uncles, lucky he had a spare VN tail light lol,

and yes i really need to install a boot release, i just dont know how to lol

( hint hint if anyone has a DIY )
