Default What spanner to buy correct spanner

Just installed a vr engine into my early vn, all good.
I went about it the hard way and left the trans in the car .
I found it very hard to get to and titen the trans lines on the gear box.
I used a 12 inch open ender. Not tite enoth
What would be the best spanner to buy ? Or best trick.

    Thanks

When removing the engine from my vn auto, I did the opposite, working from above I used a TUBE NUT spanner, like a ring, but with open section to go around tube onto nut. They are shorter than your normal ring spanners.

You can even bend them to suit the tight space, but you also need midget arms and wrists to get the job done.

Flare nut spanner. Though I just used a shifter too when removing my old trans but its a pain in the ass as you know.

I just removed the auto from the vs on the weekend and i can feel your pain they're in a prick of a spot to get too. Only way i could think of was to drop the gearbox down a few inches to give you a bit more room to work with, and use a 13mm pipe spanner but I got the shits with it and just cut the lines and installed rubber hoses over the cut sections when re-installing, should make life easier in future too as long as it doesn't leak!
