full spool

hey just wondering I'm after a full spool for my new reco lsd center with 3.9s . What spline set up am I after and is it worth a full spool or just a mini ..... Please help don't want to waste my coin , and what's a rough price I'd be looking at seen some on ebay from diff place in sunshine melbourne, and others that say 28 spline but reco for vl turbo ......

You can't spool an LSD housing, so you'll need to buy an open wheeler carrier (or just the centre if you don't need a whole spare diff)

You wont need a Full. I've never heard of a mini breaking, ever. A Full is stronger, but it your not doing track work with high torque levels, its just a waste of money.

Agreed Stealthy, i had 250rwkw going through my minispool. Never broke it, or a axle....but i guess its luck of the draw...

Look at vn_luke's vn...... I think his only running a mini spool?

I guess the only thing that would be better about a full spool on a car with jackshit power is less weight? but im just guessing here

Actually a full spool would weight more. But probably only about the same as a bottle of coke lol

Thats nothing then :P I thought it would have been lighter because it replaces the whole centre which weighs a bit and the actual mini spool inside...

Like i said, i was guessing, learn something new everyday


btw go a mini spool then.... cheap, easy, reliable and can handle power win win!

It doesn't replace the whole thing, but the crown wheel bolts directly to it, so just makes it stronger really.
