You wont need a manual computer. The auto one will run it fine without any fault codes!

Tail shaft can just use the front half from the T5 (assuming this comes with it) and the back half of your normal tailshaft.

Congrats on converting, you wont regret it

Dose it makes a difference changing the computer? Or don't bother.

Related question here, is the V6 and V8 manual tail shafts the same?

There no need to, but it wont make a difference which way you got (only in later models like VS).

Can't tell you the tailshaft differences, both mine are V8s, and the conversion kit i bought was from an SS, so all V8 gear. You wouldn't want to use a V6 T5 anyway (plus they aren't a straight bolt up, needs a different input shaft or something)

Oh I wouldn't use a V6 box, just the fact i can get a V8 box but not a tail shaft to match i wanted to know if I could use one out of a manual V6.

Yeah to use the V6 you need the V8 input shaft and bell housing.

That's good, will only need a V8 box, bell housing, flywheel and clutch then for my conversion.

Yeah will still drive, you just wont have a working speedo. Revs, and all the other gauges will work fine tho. Have a look in the manual conversion thread, i'm pretty sure i saw a way to make a cheap connection for the speedo sender

if the speedo is not hooked up the car will just keep on stalling, you will be able to drive it but you will have to hold the revs up everytime you come to a stop.

Can't say i've ever had that problem when the speedo wasn't hooked up. I DID have erratic idle (but with the speedo hooked up properly) but that was something different....

when i 1st did my conversion my speedo wasnt hooked up for a few days as i didnt have the extension and every set of lights it would stall unless i held the revs up, i couldnt work out what it was as i went over everything until dr bob said speedo, so i immediately got the extension and hooked up the speedo and the car was perfect
