ok this is v6 owners but has anybody cleaned up that part ontop of the engine with the 3800 on it like i want to know can u make it more shiny. i would like to see some pics if people have done it cause i just want to know if it can be done
its called a valley cover and yes i have done it before but no pics sorry the way i did was grab yaself a drill and a metal workwheel and sorta sand it with it they come up like chrome looking![]()
yea thats the kinda thing im looking at doing has anybody else done it
Are talking about just cleaning where it says '3800' - if you are just grab some wet'n'dry and a bit of elbow grease will clean it up followed by some Autosol/ or any other metal polish and it'll be nice and shiney in no time.
If however your refering to the 'valley-cover' (plenum/inlet manifold), than to get the casting 'grain' out of it will require a bit more elbow grease (alot more).
Your best bet would be to grab a dremel and start sanding/grinding away. Take note however that a half-arsed job at this will look a thousand times worse than the standard item.
Cheers,
