    Default Handbrake Chime L3 Dash

    If you have the handbrake chime sounding off as below - the 1st pin on the voltage regulator may be cracked. I had 3 identical clusters with 1 chimming off the handbrake warning all day. On following the tracks on the green PCB I found it went to Pin 1. Pulled the regulator out and sure enough the 1st pin was cracked. Blob of solder and the chime is silent until you pull the handbrake on.

    All 3 clusters work fine now.

    Overspeed A = T4 pause (1) T3
    Low fuel B = T2 pause (1) T3 pause (4) repeated 5 times
    Hot engine C = T1 pause (1) T2 pause (1) T3 pause (1) T3 pause (1) T3 pause (1) T3 pause (1)
    Park brake C = T1 pause (1) T2 pause (1) T3 no pause T3 pause (1) T3 pause (1) T3 pause (1)
    Press remote B = T2 pause (1) T3 pause (4) repeated 5 times

    T1 = 2560 Hz 1/8 sec
    T2 = 3200 Hz 1/8 sec
    T3 = 4266 Hz 1/8 sec
    T4 = 6400 Hz 1/8 sec
    Pause = 1/8 sec

    I'll find out soon, I currently have a VN Pre-89 dash at the moment, will find out when I put the VP Calais PCB in.

    Dont forget - you have to move 3 wires on C1 dash pug if fitting a VP L3 cluster to a VN.

    Does the brake light come on when driving and you pull the lever up a little? If so the chime should work when the light comes on.

    The VN L3 cluster still beeps at you?

    Record the code so we can work out what part of the cluster is not working correctly.

    I'm 95% certain it's the Handbrake chime.

    The beeping cluster I've got in at the moment is actually a VP/VQII one.

    Have you moved all the wires on C1? And moved the green wire from C3 to C1?

    Moved 2 wires on C1, two the brown/white ones.... but not the green one from C3 to C1. Problem found!

    What does the green one do?
